Hi,

I am looking into a to be built home in Mount Laurel.Would like to know if I can negotiate on the prices.Has anyone has success in bringing down the base price? If I ask for upgrades and the builder gives me a price with the upgrades will I be able to negotiate and bring down the price?

I'm not sure anyone can really answer your question, but it would be helpful if you would tell us what builder.

Are you using an agent? They would be able to help you.

Yes you can negotiate the price... We were going to have a new home built 3 years ago and we got quite a bit knocked off and had it the way we wanted

Everything is negotiable, everything. The best advice I think is going to be that you should retain your own representation in the form of a buyers agent. The builder may not like this idea and claim it is unnecessary, but it is most certainly your right and a good idea so you have someone with area knowledge that knows the ins and outs negotiating on your behalf.

Theoretically, all goods have negotiable prices, down to a stick of gum at Wawa. But most people don't take advantage of this, and it's probably frowned upon if tried (I've never tried).
