I bank with Wells Fargo, yes, the giant evil mega-bank. I was with Wachovia which they took over and I honestly don't have any complaints. Of course, my accounts are old and grandfathered in with a lot of nice free perks, so that may make a difference. Customer service wise Wells has been good and the local branches are decent and I've never had an issue getting a problem fixed. The only time I had a real issue was when the bank screwed up a transaction and they charged some fees. When I went to the branch the manager wasn't there at the time so they couldn't do anything. I had to call the customer support line, but they did fix the issue promptly and apologize for the error.

My mortgage is through PNC and that has been nothing but a good experience, so it would seem as others have said they may be the best choice. Another local option is Sun National Bank. I banked with them in the past (the company I worked for was owned by the same people) and it was an all around positive experience. The only reason I left them when I did is that they had limited branches, but now they are in a lot more places. They are an entirely South Jersey based bank. The other one I hear a lot of people like is Fulton Bank (formerly "The Bank" and several other names) which is a small Delaware Valley regional bank.

I have an account with Navy Federal CU, but I do my day to day checking with PerkStreet Financial.

It's one of the online banking options. Instead of getting interest on the account balance, you get money back for spending. My wife and I are spenders more than savers, so it made sense.

I almost never go to a branch, so it wasn't important to me.
