The Cotton On store is opening by the central area closer to Boscov's.
It's been awhile since a non mom& pop store targeted young women opened up at Moorestown. Ever since Wet Seal closed, I suspected PREIT just wanted that group to go to Cherry Hill and wasn't attracting stores for young people. Over 5 years or so, Hollister was the only new apparel store but I think that is for young men only.
Christopher & Banks seems to have closed. It's clothes anyways was for a much older group of women shoppers.
It'd be a major coup if PREIT got Barnes & Noble to relocate from East Gate Sq. to the Moorestown Mall at the former Lane Furniture site which is Route 38 facing. Right now, there is not enough benefit for Barnes & Noble to relocate, but I think the 4 restaurants (with liquor licenses) will probably face Route 38 somehow and not Lenola Road or the road separating Moorestown from East Gate Sq. Actually I'd be surprised if the restaurants didn't face Route 38.
However-
There are still a large number of vacancies by the Macy's and Lord & Taylor wing which has been a problem since those dept. stores opened. It's such a small wing really, but it's always 50% vacant or so. I suppose Moorestown will continue to be mall where people just drive up and park by the dept. store (go in and out) unlike Cherry Hill and enough aren't venturing inside much to support the stores. The movie theater and restaurants might not bring enough help there.
Moorestown is right around the corner from my office and I really appreciate the fact that it isn't constantly mobbed. I can get "in and out" of Moorestown pretty quick when I need something. Even though I drive right past Cherry Hill on my way home and they have way more variety, going there just simply can't be done with a quick trip.
I like Boscov's much better than Gimbels, but still miss Wanamakers.
I always thought of Wanamakers as an old person store! Our routine was get pizza at that Italian place sort of hidden away from the rest of the mall, then me and my mom would go see the ducks while my brother went to the Coin Corner...my turn was later at Woolworths, where I'd get a punchball.

Wanamakers was owned by a California company for a long time & it was, pretty much, for old, rich people. It was last owned by a holding company that paired it with Woodward & Lothrop out of DC. They over-expanded Woodies & it took down both stores. In that incarnation, Wanamakers was great.
I hate Cherry Hill!! Took a 1/2 hour to park yesterday to make a purchase at sephoras!! And, the garage was FULL! figure that one out!! and it is not even the height of the xmas shopping season yet!!! I love Moorestown - just like above people said, 'easy to get in and out of' - the macys's is not real big - selection not always great like Cherry Hill, but my time is worth all the mob and parking. PS - Moorestown's Food Court way better than Cherry Hill!! That builder blew it with the outdoor restaurants!!!! they take up all the parking!!!
