Anyone know why? Is their new homes in Gloucester for under 300k with a good school system? I thought the housing market was real bad right now so its a good buyers market.
Some but you'll really have to look. $300k is a magical price point down there right now so it will be tough to find something under that. I'd suggest Woolwich or Mantua. There's some established developments where you could probably haggle your way into something.
I doubt very much you'll be able to find new construction at this price point unless its a condo/townhome.
Funny, if you go to the new home guide link I left, it says Carriage Glen starts at $316,900 - $359,900, when their web site says Located in Williamstown
Single-family homes from $259,900
All these houses are big... Its just me and my two year old I would settle for a townhouse with a garage and basement.... Any new townhouse developments in Glousester or Camden County?
Condos / townhomes are hard to resell in some areas so you should consider that in your decision. While it's just the two of you now, you never know what the future will bring.
The least expensive house the WW has was a decent size with room to grow. You should start walking some of the models in the new communities, most make really good use of space.

How come Carriage Glenn is cheaper then the townhomes in the same town?
One site says it's less expensive & one says it's more I could never understand when a townhome is more then a single home - the same goes for a condo being high priced in most places. Here is another place much less but it is in Mickleton Greenwich Crossing - Townhome Mickleton NJ Ryan Homes - Ryvenco New Homes Seems a lot more reasonable but is in a more out of the way area but still very nice; at least it was a few years ago
I say Woolwich or Mullica Hill.... nice schools & growing areas. Woolwich is building a huge new park right now. The big downside is high taxes in those areas.

The other downside is that the houses cost more, or they did in the communities we looked in.
