Just in case you live in the area, LOVE doughnuts, and didn't know this.
It's 1170 Haddon Ave & Cuthbert Blvd.
(It's where that KFC used to be, across from Walgreen's and diagonal from Wawa)
This is nuts. The one they opened up in Philly (on 16th and Chestnut) is around the corner from work.
And now this is around the corner from me at home.
I'm just going to give in and gladly accept my diabetes.
Well I don't have diabetes yet, but I'd gladly accept it for them. bwahaha.
The owners are supposed to be opening up "200" of them in the area. They have 1 in Fox Chase, 1 in Center City, and now here. So who knows how far they'll get.
+1 on the McMillan's. It's been a family tradition for years, especially the cupcakes. Whenever family from out of state comes to visit, it's one of the first stops.
KK has good donuts but I rarely eat donuts. So I will hit it up from time to time but sadly they get boring after a few visits. Beats DD though. DD donuts are the worst.
What's going on with KFC anyway, the two near me closed.
KFC sales have been down for a while and they are starting to close down stores that are redundant in certain areas, with a particular emphasis on stores that have not been updated or well maintained.
Basically, they think they are oversaturated in some markets and that a decent portion of their stores have failed to keep up with updates. From what I've seen, it's mainly the KFC only stores that are closing while the KFC/Taco Bell ones are doing fine. FWIW, that KFC in Collingswood was pretty dumpy. That place was around since at least the mid 80's and I swear it hadn't changed one bit over all that time.
I heard that the Haddon Ave KFC was always failing health inspections.
If I want fried chicken I go with Popeye's. Better chicken and very fast service.
