Hi,

I am looking to move to New Jersey (preferably not Northern NJ). My husband and I want to live in a family friendly area. We are also looking to have a large lot of land. We don't want to be right on top of our neighbors. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

3 bed, 2 bath
550k
5+ acres

Thanks for your help again!

Man. You have chosen the right place. Lots of open land and you can get a nice home for $550k. Depends on how far out you guys want but look at Medford, Shamong, Southampton, Tabernacle.. I would choose Medford for the wonderful historic downtown area they have.

Good advice from Frank. Those are the towns I'd check out.

Frank gave good advice. All of those towns are very nice, have good schools and homes with land. The only thing I could add would be Mullica Hill aka Harrison Twp. in Gloucester County which has many large homes on acreage.

Thank you guys. Are there any areas that I should stay away from? Areas that the crime rate is higher than most.

None of the areas mentioned have any crime to speak of.

Are any of these towns somewhat close to Rowan University? I will be commuting there.

The only town close to Rowan is the one I mentioned, Mullica Hill/Harrison Township. You can literally get from most areas of Mullica Hill to Rowan's campus in less than 15 minutes.

That can be a rough 25 miles though. It's one of those, "can't get here from there" kind of things. The most direct route is Hopewell Rd. through Berlin/Atco and then through Sicklerville/Williamstown/Cross Keys to 322 and into Rowan. It's doable but would take around at least an hour on most days. The other option is 70 to 295 to 55 to 322 into Rowan. That way looks faster on paper, but can be a traffic nightmare and I would not be surprised for it to be an hour and 30+ most days, especially in the morning.

I don't think a Rowan commute excludes Medford, but that's not the easiest of South Jersey commutes.
