Hi, I am a single female moving from Philly to work in Egg Harbor Twp. From the searches I have done, it seems that the areas are mostly summer shore towns or family oriented neighborhoods. Where should I look to live that is safe for a single female but not in an area where it is mostly family neighborhoods? I don't want to rent a house and I am looking for an apt, condo, or townhome to rent. I have heard that Upper Township is nice, but is that mostly a shore town? I don't want to live in a shore town because I would not feel safe there when most of the units will be vacant in the fall and winter. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

hmmm... you're close to the beach. as you said...

Its either
- summer shore rentals (along the beach)
- or family communities.

the only other option I can think of... trendy, hipster, artsy, walk out my door to cool things happening even in February... well I think that's more of a city thing? Or at least closer to Philadelphia?

As you go west to Camden county there are some interesting neighborhoods that may suit you, but would be crazy to travel 50 miles.

I guess I am no help. doh!

Upper Township is more inland. You should also look at places like Dennis Township and Somers Point. The towns are relatively safe. Those towns are a short commute to Egg Harbor Township for work and is a short drive from Atlantic City for nightlife and other social activities for singles.
