Our home's roof needs to be replaced. The house is two story, 4500 square feet. The roof has lots of valleys, but not crazy. Similar to the picture below.

I called several roofers. The cheapest roofer said it would take 6-8 people one day to re-roof. The more expensive guy said it will take 6 people 3-4 days. He said the one day guy is probably cutting corners. I asked several people who have replaced their roof, most of people said it was a one day job. Only person said it took 3-4 days for his home, although he lived in Connecticut.

My question is: is one day too short for re-roofing and he is cutting corners?

If that's your house it's a multi-day job, especially if the old roof is being removed.

^^ That's not a one day job. I wouldn't hire the guy who said it was.

Definitely more than one day. My home is about half the size of yours, and it took one day ... but most of the plywood was good, and didn't have to removed. All of that will dictate how long the job will take. With enough manpower, you are probably looking at 2 days (3 at most).
