Hi, I am interested in relocating to NJ.

I have been looking at Toms River, NJ area. I am 56 and am looking forward to a change after a very contentious divorce.

I would like to be close to the shore, close to commuting to a variety of major east coast cities for cultural activities and entertainment.

Is this area friendly, safe, personal, and have fun community activities?

Also how is the dating scene for someone in my age group?

What caused you consider Toms River? I'm not very familiar with the town, have been there half a dozen times, but the only thing I've heard recently about TR is heroin overdose. Do you currently live in another state?

Toms River is basically before Seaside Heights coming from the west. It's a large area. Yeah u should be fine there. There is enough going on. But beware of storms and water levels and rowdy summer traffic. Its near one of the most active beaches in the jersey shore.
