I have a problem. My doctor wants me back to work. I have only progress 50% from surgery time which happened on June 23. It is now October I had Dequervain tendonitis. I have lots of numbness and stiffness and I am also attending therapy. I feel lots of pain and I am a mother of 5; I am constantly up on my feet and working around the house. When I explain to the doctor that I am constantly working around the house meaning moving the wrist he looks at me like I am lying!!! When I tell him we should get another MRI, he cuts me off and said there no need for another MRI. there is no way after 4 months I should still feel lots of pain. I was told I can not go to my own doctor cause I am covered under workers comp. Lots of times that I visit the doctor I come out so stress as he yells that he wants me back to work,. for one, I am not ready cause I am not progressing, and two, my job does not allow restrictions. I have several restictions. I explained to the doctor about the restriction and once again he gave me the face like he does not know what I mean. I get so overwhelmed I try to get advice through a friend that also got hurt and is covered under workers comp. The problem is the doctor strongly stresses that he wants me back to work but the job not allowing. Meanwhile I am sitting in the middle like I don't know what to do. I agree with my job not allowing me back and not understanding doctor. What should I say or do when the doctor ask if I return back to work?!

I believe you have the right to a second opinion under workmen's comp. If the insurer or your company's refuses, suggest you pay for it yourself and/or get an attorney specific to workmen's comp cases

Elmwood : I have requested for a second opinion and workers comp denied it!!! they said per policy there not allowed to change my doctor. I know that is "BS" cause I have a friend that was under workers comp and she changed her doctor.
