It at least make me feel like a rip off..
I am not a psychologist, however, I bet you that people are willing to see Toll's disappearance.

Nobody likes tolls. They are, in fact all over the country & increasing. More states are implementing tolls. It has nothing to do with casinos.

I think the OP just doesn't really understand the jersey shore. We don't care. The casinos are not important. If they all disappear the shore will still be crammed full of people in the summer. More so in AC because it is one of the few free beaches. If you like Vegas or Macau more go there and stop complaining.

That's not exclusive to AC. That's country-wide.

While the Atlantic City economy doesn't operate in a vacuum, its hard times won't have an appreciable effect on the other South Jersey Shore towns, whose tourism economies range from mostly to completely independent. Even on Absecon Island, other than Ventnor, whose summer-goers include some AC visitors by virtue of its hotels, hotel-free Margate and Longport may as well be South of Sea Isle. I grew up going to Margate, and other than the occasional dinner, I didn't set foot in Atantic City proper until college. Toll roads are irrelevant, though even they can be mostly avoided by taking the Blackhorse.

Even in the best of times, AC wasn't Vegas, and while the airport did once punch above its weight, it was always a regional destination first and foremost. Regardless, I don't see AC as "doomed." While I haven't been closely following AC-related news lately, AFAIK, the hemorraghing has stopped and its tourist economy is beginning to readjust.

.... Revel, Showboat, Atlantic Club, and Trump Plaza went belly up and closed just last year.

Taj Mahal almost closed as well, they might still close this or next year.

Which doesn't contradict my prior statement. Those all closed in very rapid succession. Other than Taj Mahal, whose fate still hangs in the air, I don't believe any of the remaining casinos are in near/imminent danger.

Indeed, haven't Borgata and the Trop experienced increased revenues lately?

Thats because they cannibalazed revenues that would've went to the closed casinos in prior years. The pie is shrinking, but so are the number of players.

If NJ doesn't pass new tax breaks for them that they are talking about on the news, 3 more casinos will close (including Taj Mahal). Only 5 casinos are doing ok. Honestly if that happens, at least here from NYC it would be worth it to skip AC and go to Mohegan Sun/Foxwoods at that point.
