So the troll made one troll-ish post and 4 pages later, people are still arguing the troll's point. Mission accomplished?

Haha that's exactly what I thought when I saw that. Someone clearly doesn't know Sussex County (to name one area) exists, or that it's in North Jersey. Sounds like an outsider whose only experience with NJ is flying into Newark from Nebraska and driving straight through the Holland Tunnel in an uber. "No" or "poor scenery." Yeah okay.

So.. if you notice, I was replying to a post that claimed North Jersey had more to offer. Yes, in a way, it does - but at the expense of the things I mentioned. This is applicable to the northeastern corner of the state, not NW NJ.

In this matter, one can talk about land area or total population. The latter is more useful in many ways because these are the areas people gravitate to, which have all the jobs, etc. So even if a large portion of North Jersey is scenic in terms of land area, I'm referring primarily to the most populated areas.

Even the most populated areas can be very beautiful. Think of towns in Bergen, Essex, Union Counties, etc. We have some very pretty, very green suburban towns. My town has a lot of parks, for one, and a river (Cranford). Even the denser areas can be and are scenic. We don't live in ugly areas. I don't think anybody would really want to...

My experience with it all was... suffocating. Particularly from Middlesex County through Bergen County. When I used to live in North Jersey for college, it aways felt like a breath of fresh air whenever I'd go back home to visit. Maybe some towns even in the metro NYC area are decent when it comes to the things that I mentioned. I haven't been to all of them, but I have been around the area enough to have validly (IMO) formed the impression that I have.

I'm the complete opposite. I find being in the "middle of nowhere" suffocating. It freaks me out, especially empty-ish flat land. I guess it just depends on where we grew up and what we're used to.

That. And for me, maybe blood, too.

That freaks me out. I don't mind flat land in the middle of nowhere with trees.
