Visiting my sister in Philly Saturday; we love the beach so we're going to take my kids to Sea Isle for the day. Would it be better to drive over early (leave philly around 7 or 8) or go late morning (leave philly around 10)? I'm sure there is no good time to drive over on a Saturday in July, but is traffic heavier going in early or late morning? Thank you in advance...

Damned if you do... Early, and you'll be on the road with people going for the day. Later, people going for the week. I've never been able to completely figure out the weird traffic snarls near the the beaches. You'll get a better parking spot if you go early. I'd go for that.
I'm guessing this is too late, but I'm from Gloucester County and traffic on 42 (especially) and 55 is always miserable later in the day on Saturday. You can count on that, so give the early morning a try.
I was on 55 today (Vineland) at 8:15, very little traffic (both directions). Back on 55 coming back at 10:30, not bad both directions.
