I'm going to be moving back to my home state of NJ in about 2 years. I was considering Pemberton. Can anyone give more information about the area?

Where in NJ are you originally from? What in the state are you familiar with? What will you be doing for work and where? Budget?

Why Pemberton as your initial thought? Most people would choose not to live there if they have the option.

I'm thinking of many places I was just asking about the area. My budget 350k. I'm from Scotch Plains. Lived there all my life. Lived here in AZ due to my husband wanting to move here. I can't stand AZ. So we're moving back. Plus it's better career wise.

Ah, you again...now I remember your old posts. You had a thread exactly one year ago and another one nine months before that.

Look, it all depends on what you are looking for in a place to live. Pemberton is very rural, kind of middle of nowhere, with not much to do. Most people would find it boring. Economically, it is one of those rural towns that does not have much of a bright future.

Other suggestions have been provided to you in previous threads. With a $350,000 budget, you can afford better areas in South Jersey closer to Philadelphia and with more going on. Voorhees, Cherry Hill, Marlton, Mount Laurel, Haddon Township, Collingswood, Cinnaminson, Delran, and Burlington Twp are all within your budget.

Not trying to be mean, sorry. Was it me saying “you again?” I did not mean it negatively, just acknowledging that I remember your previous threads. But I will be forthright. Other suggestions have been provided to you before. Granted, you did not previously ask about Pemberton, so this is a new request in that sense. I don’t know what vibe you are looking for, but Pemberton isn’t generally a destination town on anyone’s radar. I am telling you that you can do better. But if you like the rural isolated vibe, then go ahead. But you should also know Pemberton has higher crime rates than the other towns I suggested. Maybe equalish to Collingswood. I’m not saying you are likely to get shot in Pemberton, but probably more property crime related.

Well, if one has ties to Philly and the shore, that might be a good in-between. Otherwise, I would find a place close to the job. Unless you’re retired. With more details, we can give you better advice.

I posted to your comment in the north jersey posting. In black and white language, Pemberton is full of military, people with drug and income issues. There is also nothing there so avoid if you have your life together or are not required to be there.

Put back on your "Jersey Girl hat, shirt, shorts and tude (lol)" you'll take it better.

South Jersey IMO is your best bet with your budget, you'll get even more for the money in Sewell, Turnersville, Sicklerville - suggest the Gloucester/Washington Twp in Sicklerville but your commute will be a bit longer if working in Philly. Just to give you an idea I currently live in the Gloucester Twp part of Sicklerville 4BR/3Bath 1 family with a basement, two car garage and decent sized back yard and paid $210K in 2012 - would be roughly $600k - 720ish k for the same in North Jersey where I'm originally from. The other South Jersey suggestions though are fantastic too IMO.
