Of course, but it could have been a disaster. This is Philly. This was the first championship since 1983. It could have been much, much worse.

However, when the Giants won the SB last year, I don't recall any incidents whatsoever in NYC. I think NY has historically gotten a bum rap against it in this regard.

I'm sure there were come incidents. There's always some arrests and property damage in such scenarios. Last night had the potential to make Detroit or Seattle look like prom night. The local media and people I know on the streets last night said it was very much under control. And NY has won many championships since 1983.

Great article about Philadelphia fans: www.kansascity.com | 10/29/2008 | Even as winners, Philadelphians stay in character (http://www.kansascity.com/180/story/865869.html - broken link)

They did boo Montgomery and they boo'd Selig as they were both announced. Montgomery just laughted it off. I love it.

That is because NY wasn't nearly as starved for a championship as many other cities. Heaven help us if the Eagles ever win.

It's about time. It was like New Years Eve on my street with people shooting off fireworks and banging pots and pans. It was a good feeling. Hopefully it won't be 25 years until we see it again.
