MY 18 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IS PLANNING A TRIP WITH HER COLLEGE TO COME TO CAMDEN FOR A WEEK TO DO COMMUNITY SERVICE. SHE HAS BEEN TOLD ALOT OF BAD THINGS ABOUT CAMDEN SHOULD i LET HER GO AND SHOULD I BE CONCERNED?
I'm sure she will be going with others, right? Her college is not going to take chances and will ensure their safety. Many people from suburban areas go to Camden to work every day (there is a very large hospital there) and to go to college. I have a friend who has taught in Camden elementary schools for 30 years and she has never had any issues. it's not a warzone that people don't return from. As long as she stays with her group and follows the rules they set I don't think you have to worry. I think it's great that she wants to make a difference!
