Waiting for estimates for driveway repair (actualy want the whole 8.5 'x 86' thing replaced or re-done, not just sections as was the case for years on it!).
Before the sales persons start calling, has anyone here any suggestions as to material- Asphalt (more flexible and affordable, I think?) or Concrete (easiest to pour and maintain?). Cant do gravel as we have a slight slope to the street. What about general cost per square foot (looking at about 730 square feet).
Most in our development have concrete: one or two have pavement. Just wondering about any suggestions, experiences and costs.
Many Thanks!

I would check with your city-planning department to make sure they allow gravel. Gravel makes for a very messy street in front of the home.

It cost a friend of mine $3500 to replace a 1000 sq foot driveway with concrete. That included removing the old driveway and hauling off the waste.

Wow- can you send me the name of the contractor? That seems good. I was just on the phone with one who said the usual cost is $6.oo/sq ft plus the cost of removing the old concrete, going down 4 inches.
