Went to see a few beautiful homes in Williamstown (gloucester county?) this weekend. The homes were all in newer developments, built in the last 5 years.

But driving there from 42, we drove thru one of the worst areas I can remember seeing in New Jersey. I was rolling thru stop signs to get out of there. And these developments were maybe a mile away... close enough to be hit by gunfire, should there be any.

So, what's the deal with this area? Is it really hit or miss like this? What about the schools, elementary in particular?

What part of Williamstown you were in?...!! If you want to see ghetto, you should go to Newark.
Williamstown is a very nice town. The schools are great and crimes are low. The schools (elementary) were awarded Blue Ribbon for their excellence in academics....Sports are very popular for the kids to participate.
This town is family-friendly They always having something(feast, Earth Day, movie nights, fireworks for July4th, parades etc..)-for every holidays..

You should do some research on this town....you'll be amazed.
Maria

the south main street area seemed pretty rough. And blue bell road seemed not so nice either, groups of big dudes walking down the middle of the street in the middle of the day. I find that odd.

Ghetto? LOL NO... Williamstown is very nice, I live there. My house will be on the market soon! Monroe Twp is very nice and clean. Downtown Williamstown is older looking but not bad by any means.

Krusher- big dudes walking down the street during the day-doesn't mean ghetto (LOL)..Main Street is downtown, where everyone hangs out-from williamstown and other towns, but its still nice to live there...
Where were you looking for homes?? Lots of the new homes are not near Main St. or Blue Bell...

Dlwdolly-We are looking to buy a home, when you decide to put your home on the market-let me know....
Where is your house located??

Good luck-
Maria-

I am literally shocked. While we did find some nice open areas and a few nice developments. Driving in from 42 initially put us on edge. We were looking at homes in this development:

I am in a quiet development off Winslow Rd, approx 2400 sq ft, corner culdesac location, BiLevel.

The schools are Monroe Twp, and excellent.
