Husband has been relocated to Roseland, NJ and we are looking to rent a single family home or really large townhouse between $1800.00 and 2500.00, but refer to stay closer to the 1800.00 range and prefer houses built in this decade. Husband is use to a commute up to 1.5 hours. I have a 3 and 5 year old - so good elementary school and excellent daycare/pre-k is important. Not concerned about the high school as we will probably move within 5 years or less. Low crime, surburban area.. Also, I am looking for work in all areas, PA/NJ/NY.....Questions:

Anyone know about commute from Lehigh Valley PA to NJ?
Warren County or Hundterdon co better?
Have seen reasonable place in Panther Valley/Hackettstown. How are those areas?
Where is the most likley places to find work (I am an attorney, but will not be licensed probably for several months).

Thanks,

Commutes from PA to NJ are horrendous. Especially, all the way to Roseland. Warren or Hunterdon Counties in NJ would be better, but still not great regarding the commute.

Panther Valley is very nice.

Yes, we are leaning towards staying in NJ if we can keep in our price range. We have looked in Morris County but all properties we lie are over 3K....Any other areas below 2500.00 you would recommend?

You may even find Edison many great deals Edison, NJ, Real Estate Listings and Edison Rentals for Rent - REALTOR.com®

CNN Money Magazine name Edison Top 100 Best Place to live in NJ Best places to live 2008 - Top 100 City details: Edison, NJ - from MONEY Magazine #35 and Piscataway #23 Best places to live 2008 - Top 100 City details: Piscataway, NJ - from MONEY Magazine

But, ironically, many people renting in the area are IT professionals working at Wall St that tend to rent 3 month to 6 month due to the fact Wall St gave them 3 month to 6 month contracts. So, many nice houses listing with realtors tend not to be able to rent out with ONE year lease. If you can sign one year lease, you may get wonderful deal ...
