The NAACP needs its members to be "annoyed" at some kind of "injustice" in order for it to continue to exist. This particular "outrage" of the day makes it pretty clear that they're running out of things to get mad at.
We agree on that.

Which means you might want to rethink your position.

AP classes are not similar to music classes (which require tons of expensive equipment). AP History, for example, is one among several history course options a high school offers (Euro History, World History, US History, etc). Usually the same teachers teach all the history classes.
More classes = more teachers. More teachers = more tax payer dollars. We need to cut as many teachers as we can. Sorry I didn't cause the money problems in this state. Sorry kiddos.

Do you want to pay higher taxes for other people's kids? If you do good for you. I don't and you can't blame me for that. Why should I pay for "special" classes for other people kids? We are in a recession and things are not easy around here. Cuts are needed and thats that.

Well, ideally, I'd scrap the whole economy and institute something very different. Taxes and even an official monetary system would be gone. But I know that's not going to happen in my lifetime. So with things the way they are, I don't mind paying taxes for schools, including for smaller classrooms, classes for kids at different levels, with different interests, etc. I'd also like to see arts programs not get cut, and there are other classes and programs I'd like to see added.

Meanwhile, among other things, I'd like to see budget cuts happen in other areas, such as enforcing consensual "crimes". If we got rid of that, we'd have more than enough money for schools without having to raise taxes.

if that's your argument, home owners without kids would want to stop paying taxes that are used for any kinda education, not just AP courses.

Agreed! People need to fend for themselves and stop relying on the government for soo much. I hope this is what Christie is reaching towards. Self reliance is the key. Socialism will not and can not prosper.

You have to pay to take the AP tests. The classes themselves cost nothing to the student/parents. Students only need to take the tests if they want the college credit.
