It doesn't seem that yuppified to me, they still have Sears and JCPenney and a great food court, Short Hills has neither and no food court. In fact, there's really nowhere decent to eat (or shop) at Short Hills unless you have big bucks.
Although I've never been there, from what I've seen of Monmouth Mall on the internet it seems kinda drab.
Freehold Raceway seems to have a little bit of everything, upscale and mainstream, they even still have a 99 cent store! And Robot Galaxy. Wouldn't see that in Short Hills.
I went to SH once, I dont plan on going back. Sure nice to look at and lots of Real Housewife skin to look at, but I felt really out of place and there's NO WHERE TO EAT. And I hate Sbarros so dont try that..lol

Favorites:

Local-Hamilton Mall (it's the closest, decent shopping mall near my house)
Not Local-Bridgewater Mall (spacious and great way to kill some time), Woodbridge Mall (it's okay), Palisades Mall (great, but in NY)

Dislikes: Shore Mall, Echelon Mall (They both SUCK!!!) Menlo Park Mall (too boring, no stores that I really liked!)

After reading some of the PPs, I think the Central/North Jerseyians would DIE if they had to deal with the malls in South Jersey! Other than the Deptford & Cherry Hill malls, most of the SJ malls are very small.
