I'm posting the townships that appear to be missing from this site, when in reality they're just listed under different names. Subsections of towns are used for census purposes--they're called "unincorporated areas," or "census designated places." This may have been obvious to some of you already, but if I was confused, someone else probably is, too.

The "missing" township is listed with the name(s) of its unincorporated area(s) following:

Sussex County

Byram: Lake Mohawk (part)
Hampton: Crandon Lakes (part)
Sparta: Lake Mohawk (part)
Stillwater: Crandon Lakes (part)
Vernon: Highland Lake, Vernon Valley

Warren County

Allamuchy: Allamuchy-Panther Valley
Independence: Great Meadows-Vienna
Mansfield: Beatyestown
Washington: Brass Castle

Morris County

Mount Olive: Budd Lake
Rockaway: Lake Telemark, White Meadow Lake
Roxbury: Succasunna-Kenvil
Washington: Long Valley

Exclamation City and State jobs

Hi. Since you seem to know all the cities and county's, maybe you can help me out. My husband works for the Department of Public Works in Secaucus, NJ and may be looking for a transfer. We need to know how we can go about this. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.
Mychel

Be sure to check NJ Townships, linked at the bottom of every list of NJ cities and towns. It's long list of smaller towns.

Cities, towns, boroughs, townships, private communities, census designated places, etc ... all so confusing. If there's anyone out there who can clarify the distinctions that form their political boundaries, I'd be grateful.
