I would like to go to a good aquarium in NJ. Has anyone been to the one in point pleasant? Is it worth the time? Can you spend a good amount of time there or is it small? What about the nj state aquarium? Is it worth the money? They want like $17.00 per person vs $9.00 at point pleasant.

Last time we went to the aquarium in Point Pleasant, it took all of around an hour to get through it- there's not really a whole lot to see. My wife took the kids to the Camden aquarium and spent much more time there. I'd say it's worth the extra $8.

I've only been to the one in Point. It is on the small side, but it is very nice. It's worth your time if you are planning on also going to enjoy the boardwalk and beach.

My 4 and 2 year old boys can spend about an hour at the Jenkinson's aquarium. If we try we can maybe stretch it to an hour and a half, but that is the absolute maximum. Cute for the younger kids, and a worthwhile stop if you are in the Point Pleasant area already, but it's definitely not a day trip.

I have only been to Jenkinson's Aquarium, and I concur with the above. It's wonderful for the little ones, but it's small. You can be finished within an hour or two. It's on the boardwalk so you can visit that after.

I have recently been to both aquariums. Definitely go to the state aquarium. It is much bigger and better than Jenkinsons. Jenkinsons is great when you just want to get out of the sun for an hour or so, but the state aquarium is much larger and has many more exhibits. It is worth the extra money.
