I know the closer you get to New Brunswick, the uglier Somerset gets...I was just wondering if there is a "line" or street that separates the good from the bad?
I can't answer your exact question as to any dividing line, but I can tell you that my brother lives in the Wildflower Subdivision, and it is beautiful there. Truly a great neighborhood.
Go to Google Maps, and look at the area North of Blackwells Mills Road, South of Amwell Road, and West of Van Cleef Road.
Stay away from the Hamilton Street area that crosses Hamilton Boulevard. The more you go in the opposite direction, the nicer it gets--all the way down to Cedar Grove Lane. Franklin Township is really one of those communities that has a "good" side and a "bad" side. They're almost total opposites of one another. So Hamilton Boulevard is essentially the dividing line. If you plan on raising kids there, do not--DO NOT send them through the public school system.

Did you send your kids to Franklin Schools? Or do you have a friend of a friend of a neighbor who said they read NJ Monthly rankings and its not top 5 so its a bad school system???
