Hi, I'm checking out an apartment in the Berkeley Heights area (apparently not in the rich area that the name goes with, it's just the closest name on the map to the apartment address). I'm going to be commuting to Bedminster/where 287 and 78 meet. Can anyone comment on a morning commute going west? I'm thinking it will be against traffic and the 15 minutes Google Maps estimates will be right-on, but if it tends more toward 30-40 minutes in the AM I'm thinking of looking elsewhere. Any advice helps! Thanks!
You'll be getting on around exit 40 or so, and getting off at 29- there's very little traffic westbound in the morning in that area. I work in The Hills in Bedminster, so I know your commute well. If traffic is crummy on 287 going home to Woodbridge, I'll often take 78 into Berkeley Heights and wind my way through Scotch Plains to get home- a few more miles, about the same time, but much less aggravating....
