Hi. I was just wondering if anyone commutes from Bayonne, Jersey City or Hoboken to Trenton. I know it's not ideal, but I have an opportunity I don't want to pass up and my girlfriend works in the city and doesn't drive, so moving would also be a problem. It would only be for one year. I know the bulk of the traffic generally moves NE in the morning and the reverse in the evening. Does anyone know how long it will take to drive in the morning? I have looked into the train but it's very expensive (so much for the idea of cheap public transportation, but this is the insanely high cost of living state). Does anyone have any suggestions? I would appreciate any help or insight. Thank you.

How much is the train? I'm curious. Not sure if there are regularly scheduled busses to the "big T" from northern NJ.

Its Hoboken Terminal & a Switch at Secaucus JCT to the Northeast Corridor to Trenton. Takes between 90-104 mins and costs 15$ one way.

I did it for about a month from Bayonne. As you said, the traffic is in opposite direction. Its not very bad. I used to go to Ewing, and it would take me about an hour...
