Hi i was wondering does anyone else do the toms river to newark commute on a daily basis. i will be moving to toms river in about a month from new york city and wanted to know what to expect on that commute daily. i would really appreciate any information anyone can give me. thank you by the way i would be taking the nj transit bus to newark.
I have made the drive to Elizabeth for the past 5 years (from the East Dover section to the Bayway area). I would leave at between 6-6:30 and could make in in just over an hour barring any accidents which thank goodness are rare. The drive home was always longer because of Parkway and local traffic.
I don't know about the bus but I would assume that it is usually on time since traffic is pretty predictable.
That was my implication. Drive from TR to Bayhead, hop on the NJCL. 2+ hours easy.
You are correct. 2 1/2 hours minimum with that scenario. I think a bus would be faster.
