I have been offered a job in Manasquan, NJ and am looking to get some information on the area. Basic cost of living details such as average $$ for an apartment. I'm looking to find an area to live that is safe and city like. I would like to commute no more than 50minutes to work. I'm 26 and looking for a 1 bedroom apartment/studio. I work a lot and enjoy a busy city like atmosphere. I do not want to go south of Manasquan, but more north towards NYC. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

there is nothing city like near manasquan, most towns are safe, but stay away from asbury park, neptune twp. and bradley beach.
some good towns to look for apartments in are spring lake heights, wall, manasqaun, pt pleasant beach, maybe brielle.
go to APP.COM | Asbury Park Press Online and search their classifieds
Thanks for the information. What area's would you recommend between Manasquan and NYC. I was thinking sround New Brunswick but nothing more north of that. any thoughts?

why new brunswick? it not exactly close to manasquan and the town is a dump. If you wany hip, try red bank, or pier village in long branch
Try Freehold, Howell, still 50 minutes to the city but there are affordable apts. there. You can search on The Asbury Park Press and the Homes News Tribune sight ( local papers) for apts
Red Bank is a great fun town....about 30 minutes from Manasquan, but not really cheap!
