I am planning to move to jersey city from next month with my wife. I have seen one apt on Giriffith street between Kennedy Blvd and Summit Avenue. I will be travelling to job in NY on 23rd street, with timing in between 8.00 am to 8.00 pm.
Considering this I want to know how safe is this area to live. I dont have car so i will be travelling by path... So any other suggestions regarding accomodation are also welcome.....

Yes you can take njtransit bus #88 fare is $1.50 or you can take the mini vans for the same price and they come by more offend to journal sq. right on jfk blvd. Than from journal sq. take the path train going towards 33rd street and get off at 23rd street and six ave. Both bus and trains run into the late hours. You also can get a monthly bus and path card.

path fare is $1.50 each way, but if you buy a Smart link card for $54.00 you can ride the path train unlimited for that month.

I think Harrison might be better than J City, just my opinion. Also I think PATH is $1.75 but there is some sort of monthly or otherwise discount. You can check the web for that.
