The generally accepted maximum amount you should pay for rent is 1/3 of your gross income. So, if your gross income is $1600 a month, the most you should be paying is $533. Start paying more than that and you're likely to start sinking further and further into debt.

Sounds like you can't afford your own apartment and will need a roommate situation. I know that sucks. But living payday to payday and/or sinking into a debt spiral is worse.

If you have a good work history with jobs of some responsibility, you should be able to find a job paying that wage

Im a registered X-ray Tech, but can't find a position for one since I graduated in August. Yeah, Ill even go for assistant and tech aide work now.
