I'm just going under contract on a house in Aberdeen, and I'm wondering if anyone here has had to deal with drainage easements on their property. We have one that extends across the 75' lot in a 20' band near the back of the house. Is this typical in the Strathmore section of Aberdeen? Does anyone know if Monmouth county will allow fences on these areas? Any info on these would be helpful.

Default Drainage easements

Not sure if this reply is too late. But I also closed on a house a few months ago in the same development and was told by the survey that you can put up a fence on the area but that's about it. You can't dig down into the ground for such things as a pool or addition since this is city property. I have a small above ground pool which they said was technically not allowed but they didn't expect an issue with the city since you can always move it if the city needs to dig things up.
