LBI -- Grass question (contractor, yard, best)

Hi all,

I moved close to LBI and had a contractor drop grass carpets (if I can call it so) in my backyard. I was searching on line on how to take good care of grass, and I read a lot about overseeding.

What is the best grass to use around this area (LBI), knowing that below the grass carpet it's a sandy soil.

I read websites talking about Fescue, Fire Fescue, Tall fescue, Hard fescue, Kentucky bue, and rey (or red) something.. Some people talk about mixing some seed together.

Could anyone recommend the best practice to have the best lawn ?
I'm looking for something thick, that I do not need to water like crazy (I will water a couple of times a week, but not every day...), and that I can cut eventually short without killing it all.
