Hi, I am a new undergrad student at Caldwell College planning to live off campus. I am not sure if a nice, cheap apartment of 2-3 bedrooms is available in Caldwell for a group of students. I have an uncle in NYC, and I am not sure if the commute from NYC to Caldwell college would be too long for me. Please give me suggestions.

The commute from the city to Caldwell would be difficult to tolerate, unless your uncle lives RIGHT NEXT TO the Port Authority Bus Terminal. DeCamp has a bus route (33 G) that goes from PABT out to West Caldwell, which passes by the college. The trip is probably about an hour long. There is no train service in Caldwell.

There are some apartment buildings in downtown Caldwell that look nice, but I'm not sure how affordable or geared toward students they are. Have you checked with the college to see what roommate/apartment matching services they have?

Alternatively, if you have a car, maybe you can find a place with some students from Montclair State University. That school is about 15 minutes away, and it's much larger so it could be easier to find a suitable arrangement with a group of students.

Good luck!
