In my experience going north to Secaucus for several years from Route 18, the Turnpike to Route 3 West is usually quicker. You can try both routes and find out. The Parkway runs through Clifton but the Turnpike is quite close. At least if there's a problem on the bus/truck lanes you've got the car lanes and vice-versa. If Parkway backs up you're stuck
