And some of it is common sense. 1. Snow and ice make roads slippery. 2. Therefore, not a good time to drive fast. 3. Or text, or talk on the phone, or do anything except pay attention to driving.
Good advice

It's mostly the elderly that go into "panic mode" at the supermarket...C'mon lady, what's with all the milk, eggs, bread, and 5 cases of Depends? And it's the same individuals that load up on groceries that STILL insist on going out in the unpaved roads in their souped up, one-payment-away from being repo'ed SUV's that drive ridiculously fast and cause accidents. Quick! buy a shovel! The one from last year is nooo good!
Neat photos. What annoyed me was that ALL DAY yesterday they had the weather on - every channel - from mid-late morning and then the entire afternoon w/ the exception of maybe an hour in the afternoon when they had the regular shows on, it was constant weather, weather, weather - every channel (2,4,5,7 etc). Here in Morris County we prob. got a foot but it was hard to tell b/c there's a lot of drifts out there, there was quite a bit of wind. BUt I couldnt believe all the weather info, talk about overkill.

I guess things like this are the only times when the weather people get to be the headliners, so they really play it up.
Overall a pretty ho-hum storm in my area. Realized on Sunday morning that I didn't have a snow shovel. We bought our house back in April and it must have gotten lost in the shuffle. So, got up Sunday morning and went and bought a shovel at the local hardware store. Apparently lots of other folks didn't have shovels either, lol. I did stop at the supermarket, just to pick up some snacks for the Eagles game that eventually got cancelled as well as grab some extra milk (I have 3 kids and we go through a TON of milk). I did get a good laugh at the folks who seemed to be stocking up for the apocalypse.
Sat at home and watched the snow come down. Probably got only about 8" or so. The funny thing for me was that the wind was blowing so hard it basically blew all the snow off my property and drifted up against my neighbors house. Monday morning got the kids bundled up and went out to test my new shovel. Had everything cleared off and the driveway dug out in less than 15 minutes. Kids were trying to build a snowman, but the wind was still strong enough that he started to disintegrate as soon as they built it, made for a cool picture though. Since all "my" snow ended up on the neighbors house, I helped him dig out as he had to go to work that night.
You guys got nothing, here in Union Country we got 32".
