Sorry I can't be of much help - but based on the opinions of others on www.apartmentratings.com the better choice by far seems to be lawrenceville gardens.

Just avoid anything too close to Trenton.

They are both on Franklin Corner Rd, across the street from one another. Lawrenceville Gardens appears to be newer than Franklin Arms. Easy access to Rte. 1, 1-95 and 295 and pretty close to Rider University (I wonder if they rent to a lot of students?)

I think they are far enough away from Trenton to be safe.

I would think so as well. I used to drive right by them on my way home from work. Seems like a decent enough area, although I have no actual knowledge of the apartments themselves. They are certainly close to shops and restaurants on route 1.

Check the police reports and see if the apartment complexes come up.

Many people on these boards are absolutely clueless. I have lived in Lawrence Twp for 15 years in various areas of the township and I have lived in other towns in Mercer county as well. I would consider the areas on the Trenton border in Lawrence very safe and you would be surprised by who lives in these areas, very educated and affluent people. People with little knowledge of the area making generalizations and stereotypes are extremely unhelpful to people looking for accurate information on these boards.
