Hello I'm new to town and am trying to get from the Morris Plains station in NJ to the Gwynedd Valley station in PA. I know I'll need to change over at least once. Please help, none of the transit apps are helping much.

Thank you!

Well that old racist evil censor Google Maps came through,,, its about a 4 hour trip, you go east towards newark or new York City down down to Philly then up on the Doylestown train to Gwynedd Valley.
Details :
Morris Plains, NJ to Gwynedd Valley, PA - Google Maps

it all depends, if you have 4 or 5 hours to travel and no car, that is the deal.
i know people who have commuted for a while from long eyeland to central nj and once you start taking this train and that train the time adds up quickly. if youre inn no hurry it can be enjoyable, just not every day. sry no capps, typing on phone

seriously tell google to go F itself. Those directions SUCK!!! For real directions there are 2 ways one drive to flemington to the premium outlets then use trans bridge bus 8:50 am departure to doylestown then use septa to that station gwynedd valley trans bridge stops directly infront of the SEPTA station. Method 2 take an express train to sec jct transfer to NEC eto trenton or use bolt bus from newark penn or ny penn to centercity for septa train PM me for times. The most this trip should take is 3 hours with method 1 less than 2. You have a car right?

The O/P ask for help by TRAIN

I'm sure if the O/P has access to a car s/he would just drive all the way there.

Direction from Flemington are useless if the O/P has no way of getting to Flemington.

That trip would be a BEAST by transit. Hours. Many, many hours.

Morris Plains to Newark Broad : 1hr
Light Rail from Broad Street to Penn Station : 6 mins
Newark Penn to Trenton : 1hr
Trenton to 30th Street : 45mins
30th Street to Gwynedd Valley : 50mins

Trains come every 20-45mins , use the switching points to go to the Bathroom , eat , etc , the trains in PA have no bathrooms....nor due they have ticket machines in PA except at Trenton. The Journey is not bad if you enjoy traveling , you see alot of history and some hidden gems from the tracks.

If you're going to do that, take Amtrak from Newark Penn to 30th street. Break the bank and save a connection.
