Hey All- I'm relocating and have Keyport on my list, but don't know much about it. Any opinions on the area? Anything and everything would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Keyport isn't far. I don't have much information on it other than passing by/through it. It is very blue collar, small properties. Not sure what you're looking for.
I don't think it's a dump. The houses were too close together for me, but there are a lot of nice victorian type houses. If the prices are good I think it would be a good move. They redid a nice waterfront park and there are some cute stores on main street. It looks like maybe it's been a little "down" for a while, but on it's way back up.
Thanks for the imput... I guess I'll just have to take a trip down myself and scope it out. Blue collar/smaller properties doesn't bother me. Just looking for an area with easy commute to NYC for work that's less congested than what I'm dealing with now (currently in Jersey City).
Part of the challenge is that there are areas that are called "Keyport" that are actually parts of other towns, and parts of Keyport that are called something else, since addresses are based on the post office, not necessarily the actual town deliniations- it's kinda convoluted. That said, there are some areas of "Keyport" that are OK, and some that are downright dumpy- but none that I'd really consider to be "nice". I guess alot depends on what you're looking for.
BTW- the commute from that area isn't all that easy compared to what you have currently in JC......
Keyport seems like a typical town you'd find along Route 36.
