I believe Fox Run was recently purchased by Avalon. Is there a grocery and pharmacy nearby to Fox Run? Google search and walkscore.com does not reveal any stores nearby, but both show parks. I'll definitely drive by there once it's stops snowing.
What does the town center have? Is that a recreation center/ library?
I have seen a townhouse community off US-1 near lawrenceville/ province line road-- I saw a shop-rite and many other stores in a strip mall. Does any one know what's this community is called?
There is a Super Fresh and CVS pharmacy in Plainsboro Plaza and an Asian Food store in Princeton Meadows strip mall. I just noticed a new pharmacy in the Town Center too.
I don't think there is a rec centre in the Town Centre but Plainsboro just built a brand new library.
I believe the development you saw near Province Line Rd is Yorkshire Meadows in Lawrence, close to Rte 1 and the Mercer Mall. That mall has a fairly new ShopRite super market.
It's been a few years since I rented so I don't really remember. I just remember they were one of the cheaper places back then and Avalon is generally expensive.
Looking at those two websites it's not too surprising they are very different in price. Yorkshire Meadows looks like three story townhouses all with a 2 car attached garage and 2.5 bathrooms compared to one story, no garage 1 or 1.5 bathrooms.
wow, yorkshire meadows seem expensive at $1850 (though 1700 sft.). Fox Hills still starts at reasonable rent, and being advertised on avalon's site. I'll try to get a short lease at least, before the rent jumps. When I was in New port, our rent went up by 30% after Avalon bought the property and lease renewal came.

Yorkshire Meadows is quite nice. I'm not sure how walkable it is though. That big shopping center is technically across the street, but you would have be really careful crossing that enormous road that runs between then. If you want something that is walkable, I would prefer Plainsboro.
Fox Run is also gas heat, just fyi. Electric heat can get really expensive even in those apartments. Just make sure you ask about the type of heat and budget for that.
There are also private condo rentals that you can see on Realtor.com in Ravens Crest and Aspen. Those two communities are a little bit nicer I think, because they are condos not all rentals. They are a bit farther down the road though. You would also get a washer and dryer in the units, as opposed to the rental communities where you have to trek out to a laundry center.
That's where my office is (along with the Super Fresh). While it's walkable to Fox Run, it's one heck of a walk!
Deer Creek & Hunters Glen are much easier/shorter walks to Princeton Meadows shopping.
Is it far? I haven't lived there in a while now so I forget. But that makes sense that HG and DC would be closer to Princeton Meadows.
