Hi everyone,
I am a hispanic female moving to NJ with my husband. We recently graduated from Grad school and are looking to move to a nice area in NJ. What is extremely important to us is an area that is low in crime and a good educational system. I currently own a chain of salons/spas for women where I live now and I would like to open a few in NJ. Therefore, I am trying to find an area that has the above criteria, but also has some hispanic businesses. Can anyone help me out? I was told Turnersville is a nice place to reside, but i don't think there are many hispanics there. Am I correct?

I'm not too familiar with the Turnersville area but according to it's page on City Data, the city is only 1.4% Hispanic. I would recommend looking in Central and North Jersey, specifically Bergen and Middlesex counties, both of which tend to have good schools (although it varies based on town) and much larger Hispanic populations (ditto).

I would also recommend checking out Burlington county. Burlington in general is growing quickly in population so it might be a good market for new business.

Move to the Miami/Ft Lauderdale are of Florida if at all possible. There are many hispanics, the people are nice and you will not get slamed with taxes and fines every which way you turn.

High Cig tax, high gas taxes, high sales taxes, high property taxes, high income taxes, fines for no seat belts, fines for smoking, ext, ect, ect = NJ does everything possible to seperate you from your hard earned money. The State needs to fund all the corruption in State government! You pay in NJ to have every right taken away from you. Open a business in NJ and watch how fast they accuse you of owing some sort of tax. Then you can spend thousands more for an Attorney to defend the allegations.

You said you wanted a nice crime free neighborhood, well first you should consider a crime free Government.

I just recently left NJ for Florida and will never go back!

There are no jobs in FL - unless you want to make 40K for the rest of your life:-)

LOL- I moved to Florida in 1995. Left my office job in NJ and kissed my 37K salary goodbye. I thought WOW, I'm going to live in this perfect eternal State of Sunshine and have a great life here. Then SLAM- reality. All the same exact office jobs I applied for were offering me a starting salary of..get this...14K !!!! LOL !!

I thank god that I moved back HOME. Things are not perfect here, but there are a helluva lot better than Florida. For some people, it may be just fine. And to those few, I wish you all the best.

So yes, I do agree, the salarys are low.
