I found an apt in little ferry, nj that I love! Im looking to purchase. Is flooding there still a problem? I heard there are projects put in place to build extra pumps to relieve some areas. Is this true? Anyone living in little ferry now who can suggest anything? Any help appreciated.
Yes there is , thats what you get for building on a low lying marsh land. If you go into Hackensack your less likely to flood except in the Non-Residential areas...
I have lived in Little Ferry (Frederick of of 46), and my MIL still lives there. There is still flooding but it has gotten a lot better. They did something or other to make it better. She had no issues with Irene, the water got to the bottom stair of the lower level but didn't make it inside. Also some areas of Little Ferry don't get as flooded, some streets of of Redneck are fine.
I think you can get the flood plan from the city or something like that I have heard.
