We just put money down on a lot at Reega Estates in Egg Harbor Township with Ryan Homes. Anyone know anything about that development. We have visited several times to speak to neighbors but no luck yet. They want 10% down at contract. That seems like a lot versus other builders in the are who are asking for 5%. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

With Kara going belly up, I would say 5%. Take it or leave it. Worst that can happen, you back out and they have your money and resell the house. On the other hand you give them 10%...they go broke and you're screwed.

Thanks for the info....we offered 5% and they took it. We don't sign the contract for a few more weeks and don't give any more money other than the $500 to hold the lot until then so we continue to do our homework in regards to the township making sure all info the builder told us is legit. So far so good.....

Hi
We bought in Barnegat from them. They took 5% from us and we are paying them a bit each month till closing.
Where is Regga Estates? What are the main roads, I think we drove back there to see siding colors.
Where are you moving from? Egg Harbor seems nice, we live in Little Egg Harbor about 35 mins north. But we go down to Mays Landing to the mall and the people down there seem so friendly.
What model did you pick?
Good Luck
Shann

We are actually moving from Galloway about ten minutes from Egg Harbor Township. The crossroads are Tremont and Fernwood. We actually liked the cheaper of the three models, the Halifax. My husband is retiring from the military and I'm a teacher in the area and both of our kids are college age so we are downsizing.

Default Deposits

Actually a 10% deposit is very reasonable. Ryan puts up a house in less than 2 months time. I believe Jason is the PM at your development. He is quite good and very professional.
