With the rising gas prices will this be a repeat of what happend the last time gas went through the roof? If it goes to high I'm sure people will travel less and that alone hurts buisnesses all over.

I'd like to think so, especially considering gas will be over $4 for regular by shore season.

High gas prices might just curtail much longer trips and cause more people to "settle" for the Jersey shore, thus creating a very busy summer. After this long, cold, winter, people are ready for some sun and surf, so I think the shore will do quite well. I don't give a rat's you know what, I will be heading down multiple times, even if gas is $10/gallon.

The North Jersey Coast line and Atlantic lines will ensure those beach communities will be fine...the rest will be hard hit

Jersey shore will be 100% fine. High Gas prices will have little to no effect at all not to mention once Libya settles down prices will drop.

The shore will do well regardless of gas prices.

I would tend to agree with this. Those who decide NOT to go to the shore because of gas prices will be offset by others who decide TO go the the shore because of gas prices (instead of their typical trips further away, like Florida , Bermuda, Jamaica, and Aruba).

Remember, the price of fuel is ALSO hitting the airline ticket prices.
