My son & daughter-in-law are looking to purchase their first home. She commutes to NYC and he works in Lyndhurst. They only have one car so ideally she needs to be within walking distance of an express bus stop. They found something in Teaneck, but the taxes are crazy. I saw some houses in Clifton, but an educator friend of mine (worked in Lodi & now Newark) told me that Clifton schools are not the greatest. When I looked at the District Factor Grouping (rating given by Dept of Ed for socioeconomic status) it didn't look that bad (CD - lowest is an A). Would appreciate feedback.
