Hi all I just bought a home and i have a 40-50ft oak trees in my backyard along the fence-line,there is a branch that extends towards the neighbors home and i am concerned.Does anyone have any idea of what it may cost to remove a tree of this size?
Could you also suggest anyone around my area that is reasonable.

I had a couple of trees removed last year and all I can say is get as many quotes as you can so you can get a good idea of what it should cost. I got quotes ranging from 8500-3200, this included grinding the stumps.

Have your neighbor call your insurance company with their *concerns* I have heard of insurance companies paying for tree removal. (Think about it...would they rather pay for the damage to your home?)

Let us know how it works out.

We just had a huge oak tree fall down on our property and it took out another small tree on the way down. After getting several quotes we're going with Kaiser Landscaping based out of Hillsborough. Their quote was $650 for both trees.

Hi kekee726 thanks for the response i will give them a call and see what their quote is.In your situation they might be charging a bit less since the trees are down already, hopefully their price will not be too far off.

Is there a reason you want to get rid of the whole tree and not just the offending branch? Youl'll probably save a lot of cash not to mention a tree. Just curious.

If you're not looking forward to scanning the yellow pages and calling around there's a website my buddy invested in called www.squidjob.com that handles that sort of thing. Basically you write up what you need done and local businesses respond with quotes over the internet. Sounds like a pretty good idea.

I just found my old quotes the lowest price came form HOREB Tree Service (908) 205-1095. Although I didn’t use Horeb due to other factors, I was more than satisfied with the owner. I had mine removed last year at the beginning of April. I hope this helps.

Oh two years ago I had a Maple removed and used Schmiede Tree and boy did they rip me off. Unfortunately at that time I was lazy and didn’t bother comparing quotes. I just hired them because he was in the neighborhood cutting down a neighbor’s tree and we really wanted that maple gone asap.
