Please let me know what are good areas to rent in between Rahway and NYC, that are safe, not too expensive and not too boring. lol

Thank you in advance
I would suggest Rahway , this way he gets home first while you are on train
he can do all the cooking and cleaning and you can relax when you get home (lol) . Where in Rahway does he work ?

The further north you move in NJ, the more expensive it's going to be. Places like Hoboken will cost you upwards of $1700 for a one bedroom. I live in Central NJ and to get into NYC, it's about a 40 min. train ride. I usually go in from MetroPark in Iselin or through Matawan and I end up right at Penn Station. There are also numerous bus stops along the way that wouldn't be bad either.

Newark is not as bad depending upon where you live. No city/town in NJ (or anywhere) is always 100% safe. I would look into central NJ- Matawan, Sayreville, Old Bridge areas are not bad.

My office is moving to Jersey City by the end of the year.

I also realized my information to you wasn't exactly correct, not that I'm pushing to get you to move to Rahway, lol. But from Rahway, you would take the NJ Coast Line to Newark Penn, not Hoboken, and catch the PATH train to the WTC from Newark Penn. The commute is less than an hour.
I wouldn't mind moving to Rahway lol aslong as the commute isn't horrible. I will keep checking new places in the up-coming months and hopefully I will find something.

This might be a good plan, but I think after a couple months of him cooking he might get fed up and the plan might back fire lol

I'm not too sure where he works in Rahway because I'm not familiar with the area.

Thank you for this information, I will check out the places you listed.

You are correct on Hoboken, it was one of the 1st places I checked and some of the listings exceeded NYC rent, so thats definitely not an option lol

Your budget might make it a bit difficult to find the ideal place.
