The lack of NJT rail in South Jersey is just one of the major reasons. Plus, the only NJT rail that exists (AC Line) in So. NJ has few trains that run every 1 to 1.5 hours. You miss your train, your options are to either take the bus, drive, or get a taxi to get to where you have to go.

i don't think NJT sucks. it's not perfect, but it gets many many people into and out of NYC every day, usually with little incident. people blow up anytime something happens and make a bigger deal out of it than it is. it's not perfect, but people overreact to the times it fails to get them to the city on time because something that happened.

that being said, they should work to update the infrastructure, and figure out how to decrease commute times. it's gotta be possible. also, more public transit that gets us around NJ, instead of just to and from NYC, would be nice!

Google Map read this map click NJ transit bus routes then after looking at everything tell me what is wrong with it's structure and how the lines should be modified

or use 551 philly to AC express with 2 stops at camden and sicklerville. I actually want to know about bus weakness in addition to rail weakness which rail line would you want to see and why??

What you never seem to get and on the other sites is that Frequency is too low leading to low ridership. The system is in bad shape....and according to my bus operator friend down there , he thinks the system should be reduced and Rail should be expanded....

I wish in OC we had more express routes. I took the bus ONCE to AC from here, and it took close to an hour because of all the stops. There is an Express that goes on the Parkway and Expressway but there is only one or 2 a day vs. the local runs. Also, there needs to be a couple of busses that have bathrooms for long routes, like AC to NYC. I pay more to take Greyhound because they have a bathroom, 2 1/2 hours is a long time when you're over 40!

I also wish that there was a closer station from me to the AC line. Absecon is the closest. I hate driving into AC on summer weekends, if there was a station in Pleasantvile or Mays Landing I would take it rather than drive.

NJT transit doesn't suck at all. Only real problem is that prices are a touch steep for the service (private companies run cheaper buses that take more direct routes from anywhere but the closest suburb to the city you're getting to).

you identified the big problem FREQUENCY!!! frequency is worse in gloucester, salem and cumberland except 553 and 408/412. The atlantic cty problem is lack of travel options as everything goes east and west. cape may is where the bus service except 552 is the WORSE new rail in glassboro and cape may would be a big hit but I am looking for specific areas in SJ where NJT sucks HARDCORE and how to improve it. and what the frequency should be. Can I ask you something how frequent do you believe the rtes in SJ need to be??

actually 553 line runs NON-STOP from mays landing to AC its 24/7 too. which local bus did you use?? there are 2 one 507 and the other 509. looks like you identified a problem.

IF YOU CAN IMPROVE SERVICE TO OC FROM AC HOW FREQUENT WILL THE SERVICE BE??
