The Boonton Line is out of service on weekends and you still have to pay for parking at those other 3 stations. Chances are the train still doesn't take the op to where they want to go(Times Square), so might as well save time and money when there's a direct bus in the same town--which runs non-stop express after the nearby Willowbrook Mall

The easiest way is definitely going to be a direct bus.

If you're going on a Saturday (which is what I think you mentioned) and you want to go by NJ Transit you can't go from Boonton as that service doesn't have weekend service (at least not past the Bloomfield/Montclair border). Anything on the midtown direct would be fine here - Millburn would probably be the closest station.

If you do the PATH, most definitely take it from Harrison.

Morris Plains is the closest station.

Hey Mr Bushead, NO WHERE in the original post does the OP mention he MUST go from Parsippany to NYC !!!!! Will you stop with pushing those dirty, crappy buses on him for God's sake ?? He clearly mentioned he was thinking of driving down to Newark Penn Station, gives me the impression HE DOESN"T HAVE TO LEAVE FROM PARSIPPANY !!!!

Most people do not want to travel on those disgusting NJ transit buses !! GET OVER IT !!!

Nah he is right. The bus is the way to go. There is a bunch of advice from people on this thread who have no clue. First even suggesting the train. Then saying Millburn is the closest train station to Parsippany. Then saying the bus is gross because it's NJ transit...when it's really Lakeland bus line.

No clue about what ? The OP was going to drive to Newark to pick up the train, you don't think Milburn is a better option if taking the train?

You want to recommend the cheapest, easiest way to go without considering anything else, than recommend the bus. I would much rather drive to Milburn and take the train into the city from there. You won't catch me on those scummy buses into the city. Been on both and the train is the way to go IMHO.

Don't remember saying that Milburn was the closest, must be someone else.

And oh yeah, those Lakeland buses are so much better than the NJ Transit buses.

Well Milburn is free on weekends. Bit of a (confusing) drive though. 287 south to 24 into Millburn
