There are a few homes for sale on W. Broad Street in Westfield. I drove by a few times to look around and it seems to be small, nice, older homes. The taxes are less than $4,000 on each house. I've read in other posts about the area near cacciola. Is there a reason why the taxes are low on this one particular block? Thank you.
Thank you for your posts. It looks like some of the houses are assessed for around $49,600 and the taxes are $3,600, I guess if it ever gets re-assessed it will probably assess for 90-100k and the taxes will double. Is there a way to find out when they will be re-assessed?
Hi, I am the real estate agent for one of the W. Broad Street listings. (534 W. Broad) and thought I could give you a little info. Taxes are assessed based on the type of property and location. This home (and most likely the others you are referring to) are zoned for things other than single family residence. Additionally this is a county road. All these things are factored into it. If you have any other questions, feel free to call/text or email me. SusanPowell@kw.com or(908) 347-1154.

One other big item seems to be lot size - it factors into the tax disproportionately.
