I recently moved in an apartment in Edison, NJ (5 days back) and found that the apartment is infected with bed bugs. I notified this to landlord and asked him for the treatment. However Landlord denied for any type of treatment and asked us to vacate the apartment immediately. As you all know, moving is a big pain and I may need to get rid of my stuff like couch, beds etc.
Can I legally sue the landlord for all these pain and cost? Is there any law for such type of cases?
I found this by googling for New Jersey bedbug law: nj law – Landlords Vs. Tenants: Who Pays When Bed Bugs Invade? (http://www.lawyerbergencounty.com/nj-law-landlords-vs-tenants-who-pays-when-bed-bugs-invade - broken link)
I am very new in Edison, NJ and facing a very hard time from my landlord regarding the bedbugs in the apartment which I rented one week back. I am urgently looking for a good attorney (practicing in MiddleSex County) to defense my case as a tenant. Can you please suggest me a good resource for the same?
